De Turkse milieuminister Veysel Eroglu heeft fel uitgehaald naar critici van overheidsplannen om stuwdammen te bouwen nabij de historische locaties Allianoi en Hasankeyf. Het voortbestaan van beide plaatsen wordt bedreigd door de stuwmeren, die als gevolg van de dammen zullen ontstaan.
De plannen hebben wereldwijd tot veel protest geleid, vooral ook onder archeologen. Voor hen zou het een zwaar verlies zijn als het in Zuid-Oost Turkije gelegen Hasankeyf onder water zou verdwijnen. Zij wijzen er op dat Hasankeyf de enige archeologische locatie ter wereld is die voldoet aan de tien door UNESCO gestelde voorwaarden om op de lijst van beschermd cultureel erfgoed geplaatst te worden. Een initiatief ter bescherming van Hasankeyf, organiseerde eerder deze maand een bijeenkomst in de stad Batman. Activisten en organisaties van binnen en buiten Turkije maakten daar hun ongenoegen kenbaar over de plannen.
Ook tegen een stuwdam bij Allionoi, niet al te ver van Izmir in West-Turkije, is veel protest. Onlangs ketende een groep milieu activisten zich aan een hijskraan vast om aandacht voor deze kwestie te vragen. De Turkse regering houdt bij monde van Veysel Eroglu echter vast aan de economische voordelen van beide projecten. Eroglu vindt dat alleen de regering iets voor deze gebieden onderneemt. Hij claimt verder voorzorgsmaatregelen om de archeologische schatten van Hasankeyf en Allionoi veilig te stellen. Critici plaatsen hier echter veel vraagtekens bij. Bovendien is het nog maar de vraag of de plaatselijke bevolking in economische zin iets op zal schieten met genoemde projecten.
In vergelijkbare situaties kwam het er op neer dat de bevolking werd weggestuurd om zijn heil te zoeken in de grote steden, om daar vervolgens met werkeloosheid en armoede geconfronteerd te raken.

This person is showing us what is really in their mind a typical nazi mind. sunni gulenists and AKP are like this person mostly. Most of the foreigners don’t know Turkish so they show their real face while typing in Turkish! They are responsible for several terror acts.
And I am proud to be a Qizilbas. Alevi Turkmens are called Qizilbash and they are the protectors of Alevis. Rumi was a Qizilbash from Afganistan! Afganistan was a modern and happy country under the rule and protection of Qizilbashes for many centuries. Taliban is sunni and doing what sunnism orders, with Taliban Afghanistan is destroyed! Still Qizilbashs are the only people that Taliban afraids. Alevis Qizilbashs are peaceful people you can check the old books which European people wrote about them during their visit centuries ago. Alevi people respects other cultures and religions this is ordered by our religion so this makes us bad people for the sunni religion.
As an Alevi I am proud of the Ion, Roman or any kind of historical places in my country and love to visit them every year. I want full protection on this historical places these heritage not just belongs to Turkey but all of the humanity! How can democracy is possible if Turkey is not giving respect to the history! Ataturk was protecting these sites and he helped the scientists to work on these sites and after 70 years AKP is destroying these sites! This is just insanity!
And Fahri your religion sunnism is anti-democratic. Coup leader General Kenan Evren is a sunni and he tortured more than 1 million people and killed ten thousands of secularist and Alevi people! Fahri Alevis never kill children, babies women or civilians but sunnis are killing Alevi people. Think about it, is this your religion!
